WHO, Agree Swine Flu Virus is Mild !

The Swiss newspaper Le Matin has criticised the decision by the government to buy 13 million doses of  "swine flu" vaccination for the population of  7.5 million people when health experts have said that vaccines for two million people would be enough to stop the "swine flu pandemic.

In addition, the newspaper notes that the contracts that the Swiss government has sealed with the pharmaceutical companies Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline are confidential and no one knows what the precise terms and conditions surrounding the purchase of the vaccines from factories located outside Switzerland are.

Le Matin estimates that the vaccination campaign could cost as much as 130 million francs, with the vaccines alone costing 84 million francs.

Recent polls show that only half the Swiss people at most have said that they would be willing to take the "swine flu" jab.

Bedda Stadler, Director of the Institute of Immunolog at the l'Hôpital de l'Ile in Berne said: "We know today that one vaccine for each person will be enough and there is no need to vaccinate the entire population. What are we going to do with all the surplus stocks?"

Jean-Louis Zürcher of the Swiss federal government's public health office did not give Le Matin an answer when the newspaper inquired about the government's decision to order so many vaccines.

Plans are in place to shut down parts of the Internets when the pandemic situation escalates according to Reuters. Authorities will need´"legitimate" reasons to shut down sites that might give "conflicting information". Especially popular sites are in danger because the "suck up bandwidth" which would be needed by the population if "they stay at home and play online games".

It is clear that the Federal Government will actively block and shut down sites and parts of the country according to their own judgement of what is "needed" and not.
