`What the Bastards Are Doing Now: Hyperinflation'

Following the Federal Reserve's Aug. 10 meeting, the importance of a long interview appearing Aug. 13 with the Fed's lone dissenting vote, Kansas City chairman Thomas Hoenig, was bluntly identified by economist Lyndon LaRouche: "The Federal Reserve has announced its intention to resort to hyperinflation, Weimar-style!"

LaRouche denounced economists' and analysts' resort to meaningless phrases like "quantitative easing 2" to refer to the Fed's policy. "It's double-talk, fraud, lying b___sh__. They use these nonsense terms to promote hyperinflation and then they'll say, 'We were lying; we've got to lie, the situation is so desperate.' Hyperinflation is what the bastards are doing now. Call it by its name, Weimar-style hyperinflation."

Hoenig, in an interview with Huffington Post in which he called the Fed's policy "a dangerous gamble with inflation," said that the Fed was essentially guaranteeing Wall Street's profits and discouraging credit for investment, by lending the banks unlimited amounts of free, printed money which they could lend back to either Treasury or the Fed at interest; AND, that the Fed is guaranteeing new speculative bubbles by making it impossible for investors to earn any private return except by highly "derivative" speculations.

The same posting of Huffington Post reprinted sections of the latest Risk Analytics newsletter by economist Christopher Whalen. Whalen describes how the Wall Street banks, with Federal Reserve aid, "are busily creating the next investment bubble on Wall Street — this time focused on structured assets [derivatives — ed.] based upon corporate debt, Treasury bonds, or nothing at all — that is, pure derivatives. Like the subprime deals, ... these transactions are being sold to all manner of investors, both institutional and retail. Like the subprime debt .... these securities are completely illiquid and come with only minimal disclosure."

LaRouche elevates and sharpens the point. "This is hyperinflation — Weimar style. Don't compare the Fed's policy to Japan Central Bank policy in the 1990s. Japan did not control the world financial/monetary system. The difference now, is that hyperinflation of the dollar or of the pound sterling means the Weimar-style collapse of the entire monetary system. Wall Street is essentially an appendage of British Inter-Alpha Group banking, which controls 70% of world financial activity. This is not like Japan.

"The whole planet goes into hyperinflation, if Obama stays in office. Get Obama out, or it's the end of the United States and many other nations," LaRouche concluded.

No Solution for California until Schwarzenegger Is Out

On Tuesday, California State Controller John Chiang announced that without a state budget, California's government would be unable to pay its bills in late August. That means once again issuing IOUs to some people. Possible dates for IOUs could be either Aug. 27 or Aug. 31, when big payments to schools are due, according to this schedule on the controller's website.

California began its fiscal year July 1 without a spending plan, as Schwarzenegger and Democrats remained deadlocked over how to best fill a $19.1 billion deficit. Closed-door negotiations haven't produced any compromise, prompting state Controller John Chiang to warn that he may need to issue IOUs again to pay bills this month.

Lyndon LaRouche said yesterday: Get the current Governor out of office. As long as he is there, there is not going to be a correction. Cut his salary. He has too much money, much more than is good for him.

Ban the Greens! That's How to End the Water Shortages in France

A water shortage crisis is now playing out in France, in which the nation is suffering from drought needlessly, because it lacks water management infrastructure.

"Ban the greens," declared Lyndon LaRouche yesterday. He identified the campaign by the greenies, as responsible for creating conditions for mass deaths. They have acted to stop water-management improvements. "Ban them. We'll look at their suggestions later. For the time being, all green policies are suspended for the duration of the crisis." LaRouche spoke of the water shortages in France, as "an emergency created by the greenies, who are stalking Europe with their pseudo-scientific" demands.

France is one of the world's nations with a highly abundant rate of rainfall—170 billion cubic meters per year, but little of this is held back—"withdrawn" in hydrological terms—for utilization. A full 97 percent of that rainfall goes back into the ocean. As a result, 47 of the 100 departments of France are now adopting water-control measures, forcing farmers and others in those areas to limit their consumption regularly throughout the Summer months. Three departments are currently hit by drought as bad as that of 1976, which was a record drought year, despite the fact that this past Winter saw abundant rainfall.

But a law adopted in France in 2006, dictates restricting consumption, instead of organizing expanded water resources, through storage systems for dry spells. This French greenie law conforms with the greenie EU Water Framework Directive of 2000.

"There is human death on the planet," because of the greenie pseudo-science," LaRouche said. "Cancel death! We're not green. We're human. Green is not a color of a human." He advised that it's best to insult greenies this way. A lot of people are afraid of greenies. But we should turn this fear into more constructive emotions.

A member of the Union of Young Farmers of Southwestern France, says that, instead of limiting consumption of water when there are shortages, "we should create added resources to better deal with periods of crises." The President of the General Association of Corn Producers, Christophe Terrain, said that the reality is, "water reserves cost 3 to 5 Euros, the cubic meter stocked."

Wheat Losses

France, the largest wheat producer nation in the European Union, is suffering wheat crop losses this year from the lack of water infrastructure. According to this morning's monthly report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, France's wheat harvest this crop year (all types), will be down to 37.5 million metric tons, which is less than last year, despite a 5.5 percent increase in plantings, because yields are down per hectare.

The case is similar for wheat, barley, and other crops across Europe, because of the dry spring and early summer in the western nations, and the heavy rains and floods in the east. The USDA estimate today, is that the EU-27 wheat production for 2010-2011 will fall to 137.51 mmt (or less), from 138.2 mmt last year; and 151 mmt the year before.

After WW II, there were plans for installations in the Carpathians to mitigate flooding—for the 10 percent of the run-off going north (the Elbe Neisse, Oder and other basins), and 90 percent to the south, in the Danube Basin, but these were never fulfilled, given the onset of greenie-ism. The EU is, instead, conducting a pretense of soliciting successive "river basin management plans" for sometime off in the future.

In Atlanta, a 30,000-Person Mob Showed Up at a Fed Housing Aid Site

Yesterday in Atlanta, Georgia, 30,000 desperate people mobbed the East Point Housing Authority, at a pre-scheduled sign-up for the waiting list to potentially receive Federal housing aid vouchers (called Section 8). Held at a shopping center, swarms of anxious people succumbed to heat, frustration, and fear, as emergency staff had to move in to create new waiting lines, and attempt crowd management. Twenty people were taken to the hospital, 62 people were injured, including two children trampled upon. Police had to wear riot gear; four neighboring police units had to be called out. However, no arrests were made. Everyone knows that the nation is collapsing and people are desperate.

This week's notice of the chance to sign up for Section 8 vouchers, was the first time applications for housing aid have been offered at this site since 2002. The application is conditional on low-income, which people now qualify for en masse. Some people came two days early to stand in line. Even for those applying, there is no guarantee of getting aid.

In metro-Atlanta, 15,000 people are currently accommodated with Section 8 housing, with thousands more on waiting lists. Most of the 16 Atlanta housing authorities have closed their waiting lists down for Section 8 applicants; one has been closed since September 2008. Even if thousands of vouchers were handed out today, the affordable housing does not exist.

"There's more people demanding units at a lower-income level. The demands coming in from people who are losing their jobs and potentially having to leave their homes whether they move all the way to Section 8 or not, it's going to create demand, " said Jim Skinner, a planner in the research division of the Atlanta Regional Commission. Speaking to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, he said, "That's just the bottom line and that perhaps explains what happened in East Point."

We Have Reached the Turning Point

In discussions Thursday, Lyndon LaRouche emphasized that we have now reached the turning point, which he had forecast for the period of late July to late September and that the U.S. under the current President is plunging into Hell.

What Lyn said in his opening remarks on Wednesday on LPACTV Weekly Report is worth repeating, because in those remarks Lyn takes personal responsibility, as he has always done, for giving the decisive marching orders necessary for saving this nation and the rest of the planet.

The fact is, we are at war, at war with the British Empire. And what Lyn has forecast is now upon us. The whole system is coming down. Even the statistics issued by government and other agencies, as untrustworthy as they are as long as Obama is in office, cannot hide the fact of the collapse. That the collapse that Lyn forecast for this immediate period has already happened is undeniable.

Therefore, it is now time to act. This is no time for pacifism and cowardice. We are plunging into Hell, unless enough people come to the realization now, within the next 30 days, that the first necessary step to saving this country and humanity is to remove Barack Obama from the Presidency. Without the immediately removal of Obama from the Presidency, the nation is doomed.

We are at war against the British Empire. It is our war to win, not in the distant future, but in the immediate weeks ahead. Don't look around for someone else to lead. You have to find it within yourself to be a warrior like Lyn.

LAROUCHE: Well, you know, my 88th birthday is coming up on the 8th of September, less than a month away, and we're now at the point of an ongoing, general, systemic, breakdown crisis of the United States, and implicitly therefore, the world. Obama, with his wife's help, is collapsing, after her junket in Spain, which will probably pull him down, permanently — it's one that makes Marie Antoinette look like a very retiring lady! So, what this indicates, as I have warned, that the middle of summer of this year, is the area, defines the point in an area, at which the whole system is coming down.

As of now, and as of what we had, so far this week, there is no question, but that the United States' economy, and implicitly the world economy, has now gone into the chain-reaction collapse, of the entire, present, world monetary-financial system. The economic system is not totally collapsed, but the financial-economic system, is now officially, in the state of collapse, which I forecast this year, for this period, the July-August period: It's now happened.

There are still people who, in dreamland, imagine that it's not happened, or is not going to happen. But it's happened. The President is totally out of control. The economy, from the Presidency on down, is totally out of control. It's careening into a collapse, which threatens to become a chain-reaction, hyperinflationary collapse, if they continue the bailout process.

There is no chance, in the meantime, that the United States will survive, if this President remains President. We're now, in the short term, that the very continuation of this President, as President, even within 30 days or so, that duration, could mean the finish of the United States. And a collapse of the United States, would mean a chain-reaction collapse of the entire world economy.

And, the only thing is to change things!

So right now, my forecasting, has always been good, ever since I started forecasting in 1956; I've never made a mistake on forecasting. Because I don't believe in financial forecasting. I believe in physical-economic forecasting, which has always worked. And we're at that point.

Now, the question is, are there enough sensible people, in the United States and elsewhere, to take the measures of drastic reform, which would save this world economy. And it takes a drastic reform. Now, the first reform, is throw the President out of office. Without that reform, there's no chance of stopping a general breakdown crisis of the planet. Not possible. Because his mere continuation in office, with his Nero-like mentality, indicates you have got to get him out. If you're not willing to get him out, now, the economy's doomed. If you get him out, and then take certain measures in that context, then, you can get out of this mess. But you have to make a drastic reform.

The Fed Has Admitted That It Has Totally Lost Control of the Crisis

In its Aug. 10th meeting, where it escalated the hyperinflationary bailout, the Federal Reserve basically admitted that it has totally lost control of the financial crisis. With Kansas City Fed President Thomas Hoenig dissenting, the Fed vowed at the meeting to continue buying securities — reportedly, U.S. government debt — and reneged on its pledge to reduce it $1.4 trillion securities holdings—much of it mortgage-related toxic waste. The Fed will pour billions (up to $200 billion) of new non-existent money into buying new assets, because there is no recovery. Or, in their language, "the pace of recovery in output and employment has slowed."

Hoenig, who had been the first of the Fed regional presidents to support reinstating Glass Steagall, opposed the Fed's reversal of its stated policy that it would bring down the $1.4 trillion in assets holdings by $200 billion. Another big bailout—with no need to ask the Congress or the American people—and another massive jump in hyperinflation.
