Budget Cuts Kill and Destroy

Lawrence, Mass. and Philadelphia, Pa. are the two latest cities to learn the hard way that cutting fire departments to save money threatens lives and property. On July 1, Lawrence laid off 23 of its firefighters, reducing its staffing to 72 firefighters, compared to 130 just one year ago. That reduction was accompanied by warnings from its fire chief that the city faced the prospect of losing a neighborhood with such reduced staffing. On Sunday, Aug. 8, that danger was illustrated when an abandoned mill complex was hit by two separate multiple alarm fires in one day, exhausting the capacity of not only the 15 Lawrence firefighters on duty but also that of 12 to 14 surrounding communities which provided mutual aid. "Within five minutes of being there, we were completely out of equipment and people, Deputy Fire Chief John Marsh said of the first fire, reported the Boston Globe. "We waited almost half an hour for a ladder truck to show up from Lowell." The first fire required mutual aid from 12 surrounding communities, and the second, an even larger four-alarm blaze, required help from 14, including the 12 that responded to the first fire.

No one died in the Lawrence fires, but the same cannot be said for an Aug. 7, Saturday night house fire in Philadelphia, which took the life of a 12-year-old autistic boy. That death is being blamed by local residents and the city's fire union on Mayor Michael Nutter's brownout plan, in which 3 fire stations per day are being closed to save money, which began on July 27. The station closest to where the boy lived was indeed closed that day, although city officials, including Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers insist that the brownout of that station had nothing to do with the boy's death. Instead, Ayers blamed the boy's mother, who was rescued, for not having smoke detectors and an escape plan for the boy. City officials say the first truck arrived in three minutes, a figure disputed by neighbors, but Bill Gault, the president of the fire union, said had the closer fire house been open, the response would have been under a minute and there would have been a chance to save the boy. Gault told the Philadelphia Inquirer that "This is just a Russian roulette game, and now a kid is dead." Five other row houses on the block were also damaged, displacing 15 people.

Welcome to Obama's New Dark Age

Colorado Springs, Colorado, pop. 400,000, has switched off one-third of its 24,512 streetlights to save money on electricity, while auctioning off all its police helicopters and reducing its police force from 687 two years ago, to 643 and dropping, the NY Times reported Saturday. The department estimates that there is a 23% chance that all units will be busy at any given time. It has reduced the number of detectives who investigate property crimes, cut the number of officers assigned to schools, and eliminated units that tracked juvenile offenders and caught fugitives. Officers no longer respond to the scene of most burglaries, at least if they are not in progress.

Cities from Fitchburg, Mass., to Santa Rosa, Calif., have been turning off streetlights likewise.

Clayton County, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, completely shut down its public transit system as of midnight, March 31, stranding 8,400 daily riders, of whom two-thirds don't own a car. Many were unable to reach their workplaces and lost their jobs. Some left the county to try to start over elsewhere.

Meanwhile, paved country roads, "historical emblems of American achievement," are being torn up across rural America and replaced with gravel or other rough surfaces, as counties give up on finding the money to maintain them. "In Michigan, at least 38 of the 83 counties have converted some asphalt roads to gravel in recent years," the Wall Street Journal reported July 17. Last year, South Dakota turned at least 100 miles of asphalt road surfaces to gravel. Counties in Alabama and Pennsylvania have begun degrading asphalt roads to cheaper chip-and-seal road, also known as "poor man's pavement." Some counties in Ohio are simply letting roads erode to gravel.

At Purdue University, in Indiana, Prof. John Habermann organized a recent seminar about gravel roads titled, "Back to the Stone Age."

Michigan Primary Results: Throw The Bums Out!

The outcome of the Aug. 3 primary elections in Michigan underscores the white hot anti-incumbent mood in the U.S. electorate.

First there was the defeat of Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick, the sixth incumbent Congressperson to be kicked out by the electorate this season. Kilpatrick, who is serving her seventh term, was defeated by a margin of 47 to 41% by state legislator Hansen Clarke. While some are attributing her loss to the ongoing legal problems of her son, former Mayor of Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick, she overcame those problems during the 2008 primaries. But not today.

Even more devastating was the defeat of Michigan House Speaker Andy Dillon in the race for the Democratic party nomination for Governor. Virg Bernero, nicknamed the "angry Mayor" of Lansing, defeated Dillon by a margin of 59% to 41%, in a super-populist campaign, in which Bernero was strongly endorsed by labor. Tensions ran so high that the Democrats felt compelled to call a "unity breakfast" today—which, it appears, Dillon declined to attend.

The Republican gubernatorial race saw the defeat of nine-term Congressman Pete Hoekstra, a Cheneyac Republican, by super-rich businessman Rick Snyder. In a crowded field, Snyder came in with 36% to Hoekstra's 27%.

Hoekstra was the fourth House member who, after abandoning their seat, went down to defeat in the primaries. Hoekstra attributed his loss in large part to the hatred of Congress. "People hate Congress," he said. "It was a hurdle that had to be overcome, or it was some baggage that you had to carry."

Is Your Clock Set to Reality?

When Lyndon LaRouche first issued his June-September forecast, he was not speaking in hyperbole when he said that Barack Obama must be removed from the Presidency before the end of September, if the United States, as we know it, is to survive. That is reality, just as the physical economic breakdown collapse of the United States is reality—today, not next month or next year. It is only people who do not understand physical economy and have no grasp of the history of the battle between the United States and the British Empire, who can still delude themselves that "we have time" to dispose of the Obama problem—in the November elections or, worse yet, through the 2012 Presidential election process.

Just in the past 24 hours, the signs of the accelerating disintegration of life in America have been visible everywhere. In Camden, New Jersey—one of the poorest cities in the United States—the entire public library system is about to be shut down permanently, for lack of funds. In particularly poor cities, libraries serve a life-and-death function. They are often the only safe refuge, where young and old people, alike, can go to read, use a computer, receive tutorial assistance, or just get out of the sweltering heat or freezing cold. The city announced that they are putting together plans to auction off the computers, the books, the library furniture—unless some new source of emergency funding is made available.

On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the unemployment data for July, claiming that the unemployment rate remained steady at 9.5%. But this already fabricated data is based on the fact that, in July, 381,000 people dropped out of the labor force, altogether. These horrific figures were compounded by the announcement by the Social Security Trustees, that in 2010 and 2011, the Social Security Trust Fund will be in the red—issuing more payments than the amount of money taken in, through Social Security payroll deductions. Why is this the case? Because 3.62 million fewer people are working and paying into the Fund. Barack Obama is headed for being only the second President in American history to leave office with fewer people employed than when he came into office. The only other President with that dubious dihonor was George W. Bush, and the Bush employment collapse largely occurred following the July 2007 start of the still-onrushing crash.

And how has Obama responded to this grave crisis? Just like Emperor Nero and Hitler—by totally rejecting reality, and spitting on the American people in their hour of need. Michelle Obama is traipsing around Marbella, Spain, accompanied by 40 "close friends," at taxpayers' expense, using Air Force Two, renting 60 luxury rooms at a five-star resort, and dragging around in tow 70 U.S. Secret Service agents and a swarm of her personal White House staff. The hatred for this disgusting behavior is palpable. Even Katie Couric, on CBS News on Thursday, made a mockery out of Michelle Obama for showing such "poor taste." Another segment mocked her husband as the "Fundraiser-in-Chief," which is the mission assigned to all "failed Presidents." Obama's approval rating is 44%! Out of 435 House races, only five Democratic candidates want Obama to show up in their districts to campaign for them. And one of the only Democrats seeking Obama's assistance is Alexi Giannoulias, Obama's mobbed-up personal protege, who is running for Obama's old Illinois U.S. Senate seat, and is in big trouble. Obama was back in Chicago Thursday night, celebrating his 49th birthday with Oprah and Valerie Jarrett, and fundraising for Giannoulias, who is falling far behind his Republican rival in campaign contributions. Just as Obama showed up, a fresh scandal erupted, around the Giannoulias family's now defunct Broadway Bank having made a $25 million loan in 2006 to a company owned by Tony Rezko and his London business partner Nadhmi Auchi.

A similar fury is building, particularly within the African-American community, over the Office of Congressional Ethics racist targeting of Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters. Talking to reporters after a Columbia University appearance on Thursday night, Rangel assailed President Obama for his disgusting TV comments, joking that Obama must think that 80 years old is too old. Rangel knows perfectly well about Obama's personal commitment to the genocidal IMAC segment of the Obamacare bill. And heat is building against Porter Goss, the Dick Cheney apologist, who was notoriously at war with Maxine Waters for years in the late 1990s, over the Los Angeles CIA crack cocaine scandal, which Goss covered up from his position on the House Select Committee on Intelligence. Waters vehemently opposed Goss' appointment as CIA director and testified against his confirmation. So what the hell is this guy doing, having anything to do with the phony charges against Rep. Waters? The entire OCE is a criminal enterprise, an extension of the FBI's illegal targeting of Congress. OCE was supposed to issue "fact findings" but they issue bills of indictment, and leak them to the press, sometimes years before the House Ethics Committee takes up the cases. This is a political assassination squad, and they are working hand in glove with Pelosi and with the Obama Chicago gang at the White House.

Obama was engineered into the Presidency precisely because he is a failed personality, and his suicidal impulses, under the pressure of reality, can destroy the United States. Look what Nero did, look what Hitler did, and you get a clear idea of what is in store for the United States if Obama remains in office past September. Obama was put into the Oval Office by the same British and Wall Street cabal that assassinated Presidents Lincoln, McKinley, and Kennedy, and tried, unsuccessfully, to assassinate FDR and Reagan. Were it not for the assassination of McKinley, the United States would have never entered World War I on the side of the British Empire. History would have gone in a very different direction.

So now, we have reached a moment of truth. Some 85-90 percent of the American people want Obama out. In the latest Carville/Greenberg polls, Americans are now saying they trust the Republicans more than the Democrats to run the economy! That is stunning.

We have the opportunity, potentially as early as Oct. 1, to launch NAWAPA, as the driver for a whole new global development policy. Get NAWAPA going in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and Russia will immediately move ahead with the Bering Strait Tunnel project, as well as with the development of the vast strategic mineral deposits in northeastern Siberia. NAWAPA will prompt Russia, China and the nations of Central Asia to move ahead with their own international water project, to transform that vital part of Asia. Furthermore, this return to sanity will also assure that we proceed ahead with a massive expansion of nuclear power, en route to conquering commercial thermonuclear fusion. With these capabilities, we can return to the Moon, and proceed with a manned mission to Mars, fulfilling mankind's extra-terrestrial imperative.

But to get there from here—in time to avert a total collapse into a worse-than-14th-century dark age—we have got to get Obama out by the end of September, and then, immediately reinstate the full FDR Glass-Steagall separation of commercial and investment banking. Let the pirates sink. And let Obama settle into a long, and healthy life of therapy, safely distant from the Presidency.

An Appropriate 88th Birthday Gift

On Thursday, Lyndon LaRouche let it be known that the best 88th birthday gift that he could receive this coming September, is the removal of Barack Obama from the Presidency. With Obama safely removed from office, by Constitutional means, and with concern for his psychological meltdown, the United States could immediately proceed to reinstate the original Franklin Roosevelt Glass-Steagall reorganization-in-bankruptcy of the U.S. banking system. With a regulated commercial banking system in place, we could pass the NAWAPA legislation, and actually have people back to work by October 1. This is what the United States and the world urgently requires. The British imperial monetary system must be shut down, permanently, and replaced by a Hamiltonian credit system. By taking these steps here in the United States, the actions would immediately reverberate around the globe. Russia, China, and India would be immediately open to a treaty agreement, extending the credit system, under a fixed exchange rate, to Asia. Many other nations would immediately join in.

By moving immediately to implement the NAWAPA program, the urgency and feasibility of the Bering Straits tunnel project would be obvious, and would be quickly launched, opening up the vast strategic raw material concentrations of Northeast Asia to use, throughout South Asia, particularly in China. Russia is a depopulated country, but with the vast resources and unique scientific cadre, steeped in the Vernadsky tradition, uniquely qualified to tap these vital resources. It is only through this combination of NAWAPA and the Bering Straits tunnel project that we can deliver these vital resources, to lay the basis for both China and India to overcome the otherwise impossible challenge of vast numbers of impoverished citizens.

 

Under a Hamiltonian credit system, extended around the globe, we can achieve a global technological revolution. We can conquer the impoverishment of the masses of people in China and India and Africa, over the course of the next three generations. Just as North America is in desperate need of NAWAPA, the Asia-Pacific region is similarly in desperate need of the same kind of revolutionary transformation. Africa is crying for such an intervention.

It is not only feasible; it is vital, if humanity is to survive by rediscovering the true nature of man. The first step is to get Obama rapidly, and safely out of office. He is a failed personality, and his continued occupancy of the Oval Office is an abomination that cannot be tolerated.

The walls are already closing in on Obama. The White House collusion with the FBI and with Nancy Pelosi's star chamber Office of Congressional Ethics is really backfiring—because two individuals, Charles Rangel and Maxine Waters, have determined to fight back against the slanders and tyranny. A flurry of articles and news casts, coming to their defense, are appearing all over the place. The LPAC release on Porter Goss's role in the targeting of Maxine Waters has gone viral on the Internet. Yesterday, Waters demanded a speedy trial before the House Ethics Committee, insisting that the full charges be made public, and that her trial take place before the November elections. This is a nightmare for Obama and Pelosi!

The Obamas are also coming under more and more attack. The latest bombshell appeared in Thursday's Daily News, comparing Michelle Obama to Marie Antoinette. The First Lady is off on yet another vacation—this time in Spain, with 40 friends, renting 60-70 rooms in a five-star hotel at a cost of up to $2,500/room/nite, accompanied by an estimated 60 Secret Service agents. And this is the First Family demanding that Americans tighten their belts and live on less! Her jaunt to Spain was blasted all over the U.S. and European press, the same day that the latest figures on new unemployment claims showed a three- month high; and the May data on Food Stamps showed that 40.8 million Americans are surviving on Food Stamps!

Eighty-five percent of the American people want Obama out! Let us mobilize to make that a reality, and let us celebrate Lyndon LaRouche's 88th birthday this September by the reinstatement of Glass-Steagall and the launching of NAWAPA.

Democratic Candidates Demand Obama Be Forced Out of Office Now!

All three LaRouche Democratic Congressional candidates issued uncompromising statements yesterday, scoring the racist persecutions being carried out by President Obama and Nancy Pelosi against leading African-American opponents of Obama's fascist policies. All three raised the demand: the unconstitutional Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) must be disbanded, and Obama must be constitutionally removed from office, immediately.

Summer Shields, who is running an official write-in campaign against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who purports to represent the 8th Congressional District of California, began his statement, entitled "Obama endorses Jim Crow," with a direct attack on Obama himself. He wrote: "The recent Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) targetting of Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) and Maxine Waters (D-CA), for removal from office, preceding the November elections, is nothing more than an expression of Obama's blatant fascism and his unabashed racism. Exemplary of this is Obama's statement on CBS News, before any official investigation, that Rangel's allegations are 'troubling' and that he should 'end his career with dignity'!

"The OCE was created by Nancy Pelosi and Congress in 2008 as a way of, supposedly, cleaning up corrupt politics in Washington D.C.," Shields continued. "In reality, the OCE is playing the leading role in eliminating all opposition to fascist dictatorship."

"My campaign is calling for the dismantling of the unconstitutional OCE, and the immediate removal of Obama and Pelosi from office as a life or death issue for the continued existence of the United States of America," he concluded.

Kesha Rogers, Democratic candidate for the 22nd Congressional District in Texas, focussed her attack on the racist nature of the attack on Congressional Black Caucus leaders Charles Rangel and Maxine Waters. Under the headline "Shut Down Obama's Operation Fruehmenschen," Rogers begins: "It is no coincidence, that in the midst of the biggest lie ever sold to the American people, to bailout the bankrupt British Empire, that empire's puppet, President Obama, is in the middle of running political witch hunts against those few African-American Democrats that criticize Obama's fascist policies, and fight on behalf of their impoverished constituents. Like Hitler, Obama has his 'Reich List of Unwanted Persons.' "

Rogers identifies the Office of Congressional Ethics as "nothing less than a direct continuation of the illegal FBI probes and stings of J. Edgar Hoover's Operation Fruehmenschen, targeting, not coincidentally only African-Americans, and Obama critics."

She concludes by joining her voice to that of Lyndon LaRouche, who declared that "All patriots who remember the cause of civil rights, will rally behind Congressman Rangel and Congresswoman Waters. The actions against them, in large part instigated by the unconstitutional OCE, are an insult to all who fought the civil rights fight. The fight against this assault is the fight against the legacy of slavery."

Rachel Brown, who is challenging Barney Frank for the Democratic Party nomination in the 4th C.D. of Massachusetts, focussed her statement on the treacherous role played by her opponent in Obama's Jim Crow Witch-Hunt. Frank is serving as a key informant against Rep. Maxine Waters, lyingly declaring that her actions to try to get support for banks that serve the African-American community amount to an ethics violation.

In fact, as Brown says, "the only 'crimes' committed here is that Rangel and Waters stand in opposition to the pro-fascist Obama policy of unlimited bailouts for the Wall Street and London banks on the one side, and murderous cuts for everybody else. Obama is using the OCE to dispose of anybody in the congress who will stand up for poor Americans, those who are jobless, without a future, and being hit the hardest by Obama's fascist policies. Rangel and Waters have always stood for the rights of the forgotten men and women in their districts, and nationwide. Obama intends to make a horrible example of Waters and Rangel, to prevent any others for standing up to his fascist policies, but by pursuing this course so intensely, he is setting up his own political downfall."

Brown concludes: "If someone was really concerned with investigating ethics violations in Washington, Obama's Hitler modeled health-bill would be a good place to start. Cuts across the board for Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, job creation, education, and state budgets, meanwhile, bailouts for Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac, AIG, and Goldman Sachs. Millions for Barney's campaign fund come from the banking lobby, and in turn, trillions for the mega-banks! That's corruption.

"The real question with these racist 'ethics violations' is: Are Obama and Barney Frank 'too big to jail?'"

Nobama's Coming! Head for the Back Country!

The leader of the Democratic Party, B.H. Obama, is heading to Dallas, Texas Aug. 9. The state's Democratic leaders are already announcing they will be looking for faraway rocks suitable for hiding under.

McClatchy news service reports that gubernatorial nominee Bill White says he will likely be miles away, reaching out to voters in Johnson County. Barbara Radnofsky, the Democrats' nominee for Attorney General, says she too will be preoccupied with campaigning and has no plans to attend an Obama event. Another Democratic statewide office candidate, Austin attorney Hector Uribe, instead of being a tomato target with Obama, says he'll be off somewhere, focused on his bid to unseat Republican Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson. It all would be rotting grist for the late raucus Texas columnist Molly Ivins' mill.

But Texas is not the only turf where Obama would find himself an unwelcome intruder. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Obama's approval rating in Minnesota has dropped from 62% in April 2009 to 44% today. "I voted for him," said a Minnesota freight operations manager. "If I had to do it over again, I would not."

And in Georgia, where Obama went today to tell the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) how he is creating more disabled veterans, and to preen before a Democratic National Committee fundraiser, one of Georgia's most prominent Democrats, former Gov. Roy Barnes, was campaigning in southern Georgia, more than 100 miles away from Obama's Atlanta venues.

Nationally, Obama is mired in deserved unpopularity. Among likely voters, Obama currently has a -17 approval rating in the Rasmussen Daily Presidential Approval Index.

Obama has become so unpopular that a weekly political strategy session in the lower level of the West Wing now has to decide where Obama can travel, according to the Sunday New York Times. At a lunch last week in the Roosevelt Room with nine vulnerable Democratic Congressmen, Obama conceded the obvious: "You may not even want me to come to your district," he told them. None of the Aug. 3 primary states—Kansas, Michigan, and Missouri—will have to put up with The One on Election Day.

Question to LaRouche: Why Is Obama Fascist?

...I read some of your article and saw one of your webcast, and you are talking a lot about "fascism"...

However it seems that your word doesn't fit with the definition I learnt... at least, from what I've heard.

How can globalisation be "fascist" if fascism opposed at least two group of people (the fascist and the enemy)?

Why is Obama a fascist?

In two words, how do you define something that is fascist, because I am feeling a little bit lost when I read you article....

Although "fascism" originated as a by-product of a French revolution gone awry, and was also the characteristic of both the Napoleon Bonaparte regime and that of the London-created Napoleon III regime, today's relevant use of the term "fascism" is properly dated to the French developments which served as the model for the Mussolini model created by Venetians such as the Volpi de Misurata who had played a crucial earlier role in a British intelligence operation known as the London-controlled "Young Turks" who conducted the genocide against Armenians.

The formal use of the term "fascism" as the name of a movement began with what became the Mussolini model, which adopted the Julius Caesar model.

However, it is crucial to recognize the fact, that all social-political forms known properly as "fascism" today were based on the British imperial model developed under the direction of the British East India Company's Lord Shelburne, and such key Shelburne agents as Adam Smith and Jeremy Bentham, the later the head of the British Foreign Office's secret intelligence bureau's orchestration of the French Revolution's Terror, and subsequent Napoleonic form.: The Vichy regime in occupied France, is a relevant standard for defining fascism. There are, similarly, numerous nominally "socialist" movements, such as that of Vichy, or Hitler's "national socialists," which emphasize the "populist" root and aspect of fascism. President Obama's Hitler-modeled health-case policies and his continuation of his "bail-out of London and Wall Street" policies, are conclusively clear cases of the "hard core" fascist type of the current Obama Presidency.

It is not accidental that no less than 80% of the U.S. citizenry hates the Obama regime today. Essentially, today's specifically fascist (as distinct from "fascistic") philosophy is competently traced to the models of Nietzsche and his follower Schumpeter.

All of President Obama's leading policies are specifically and systemically fascist, and, according to polls, justly hated by 80% or more of the population today. For a concise response to your question, all of Obama's health-care and other socio-economic policies can serve today as conclusive proofs that Obama is a fascist. It is also the fact that Obama's pathological personality, which is that of a "failed personality" comparable to the Emperor Nero and Adolf Hitler, is an example of the fascist type of personality.
