Continuing Demands for Glass Steagall

June 2, 2010 (LPAC)—Economist Nouriel Roubini co-authored an op-ed in yesterday's Financial Times, reiterating the call for a Glass-Steagall overhaul of the international financial system—what he called "Glass-Steagall on steroids." Roubini assailed the bailout of the 2007-2009 financial bubble, which merely took a private financial bubble and turned it into a sovereign debt crisis. He began his Financial Times piece declaring, "The largest financial crisis in history is spreading from private to sovereign entities." After calling for a "grand workout" in which banks write off a large portion of the sovereign debt of nations like Greece, Spain, and Italy, Roubini declared, "It is time for radical reform of finance. The majority of proposals on the table are inadequate or irrelevant. Large financial institutions must be unbundled; they are too big, interconnected and complex to manage. Investors and customers can find all the traditional banking, investment banking, hedge fund, mutual fund and insurance services they need in specialized firms. We need to go back to Glass-Steagall on steroids."

The same message about the urgent need for Glass-Steagall was conveyed by Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA), who wrote an op-ed on PNWLocalNews.com, headlined "The American public is outraged with Wall Street/My Turn." After expressing his disappointment with both the House and Senate banking reform bills, Inslee, who voted against the TARP bailout and later backed legislation to establish strict oversight over the TARP funds, wrote, "I will continue to push for stronger measures to limit the risks of unregulated derivatives and end the problems of 'too big to fail.' I have offered an amendment to cap the size of banking institutions, because if a bank is 'too big to fail,' it's too big. I also offered an amendment to the House version of Wall Street reform to reinstate the Glass-Steagall Act, a measure born out of the Great Depression that prevents banks from engaging in risky investment activity, and separately co-sponsored a bill, The Glass-Steagall Restoration Act."

A senior Democratic Party figure reported yesterday that the Roubini op-ed is indicative of a broad debate, now underway, among circles that both support and oppose LaRouche, over the need for the kind of reorganization that LaRouche has been promoting for a very long time.

BP's Rap Sheet: British Petroleum Is a Multiply-convicted Felon

June 2, 2010 (LPAC)—British Petroleum is a serial criminal violator, which has pled guilty and/or paid criminal fines in at least four cases in U.S. courts, and is still on probation for two of them. Barack Obama's continued protection of this criminal—and British sponsored—entity has been the latest count of impeachment to show that Obama must be impeached. And if he is not removed from office soon, the United States will not survive.

(1) In Oct. 2007, BP pled guilty to a felony involving safety violations in connection with the March 2005 explosion at its Texas City refinery, in which 15 were killed and hundreds more injured. The plea included a $50 million fine and three years' probation — still in effect. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration assessed BP the largest fine in OSHA history — $87 million — after inspectors found 270 work safety violations that had been previously cited but not fixed, and 439 new violations, at the Texas City refinery. According to BP's own statement, one of the conditions of probation was compliance with the OSHA settlement agreement. BP acknowledged that it had paid $1.6 billion in compensation to victims of the explosion.

(2) BP pled guilty to a criminal misdemeanor in connection with the March 2006 oil pipeline spill from its Prudhoe Bay, Alaska pipelines. Prosecutors attributed the spill to BP cost-cutting. This case also included three years' probation — still in effect.

(3) BP entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with the DOJ for price manipulation in propane trading, and also entered into a consent order with the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). This included a criminal penalty of $100 million, and other civil fines. The deferred prosecution agreement has a term of three years — so it is also still pending — and it requires BP compliance with all its terms.

(4) Earlier, in February 2000, BP pled guilty to a felony violation of the Clean Water Act for illegally dumping toxic and hazardous materials down oil well shafts on the Alaskan North Slope. BP was fined $500,000 and was placed on five years' probation. It was still on probation when the Prudhoe Bay pipeline spill took place, caused by corroded pipelines.

In 2009, another criminal investigation of BP was opened in connection with another North Slope pipeline spill; the status of this investigation has not been made public

Everyone Is Going to the Moon, Except the U.S.

June 2, 2010 (LPAC)—More than 450 delegates from 26 nations have gathered this week in Beijing, for the Global Lunar Conference. The 350 technical presentations will include the lunar exploration plans by at least China, Europe, Russia, Japan, India, and South Korea. The conference was organized by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) to promote coordination among the space-faring nations in mankind's exploration of the Moon. Opening presentations were made yesterday by China, the head of the IAF, the European Space Agency, and Canada. While the international plans focus for now on unmanned missions, the goal of each of them is for manned missions in the future. Until the Congress kills President Obama's proposed plan to end Constellation, there is no plan for the United States to pick up where it left off, at the end of the Apollo program.

Eurozone Meltdown: "This Could Be the Last Weekend of the Common Currency"

June 1, 2010 (LPAC)—The death rattle of the Eurozone financial system continued to play itself out in full public view over the weekend.

The head of the London-based economic consultancy firm Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), which is advising the Greek government on how to handle the crisis, told the press in Athens yesterday that "the only option for Greece is both to exit the euro and to default" on its public debt, and then devalue its currency by about 15%. Doug McWilliams, chief of CEBR, said such measures are now "virtually inevitable," and that "Spain would probably be forced to follow suit, and probably Portugal and Italy. Could this be the last weekend of the single currency? Quite possibly, yes," he stated.

French Development Minister Francois Baroin shocked financial commentators on Sunday by raising the specter, in an interview with Canal+ TV, of France losing its AAA bond rating, as Spain did last week. "The objective of keeping the AAA rating is an objective that is a stretch," Baroin admitted, "that in fact partly informs the economic policies we want to have. We must maintain our AAA rating."

And in Spain, the Zapatero government is teetering at the edge of collapse, as it tries to impose London-dictated policies which will create mass unemployment even beyond the 20% that now exists in the country. The British, IMF and EU have all demanded "labor reforms" above all else, including "wage flexibility" (i.e. drastic pay cuts) and "altering the collective bargaining system" (i.e. destroying the trade unions). The Zapatero government had set today as the deadline for the unions to "voluntarily" agree to these policies in discussions with the business sector, but no such accord could be reached, and so they pushed off the deadline for another week. The Spanish trade unions are threatening a general strike if these policies are imposed.

The Zapatero government is rapidly plunging in the polls, and will be forced to call elections well before the scheduled ones in 2012.

Powell Says Use 'Decisive Force' For a Total Attack on Oil Spill

May 31, 2010 (LPAC)—Gen. Colin Powell, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said today that the federal government has to move quickly in a crisis like the Gulf oil spill, and that it must move in with "decisive force." Powell said he had dealt with many such crises, and the lesson is that the President and the federal government have to get involved as quickly as is possible.

"The military brings organization, it brings control, it brings assets," Powell said, while deferring to his active-duty colleagues in the Pentagon to decide what exactly is the right combination of assets that is needed right now.

"But whether it's Army, Coast Guard, local forces," Powell continued, "it is time for a comprehensive, total attack on this problem, to protect the shoreline, to protect the livestock, to protect the wetlands, but most of all to give the people in that part of our country a sense of hope that this is going to be solved."

Powell followed Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on the ABC program; Jindall said that the federal government "shouldn't be making excuses for BP," but should be deploying many more assets to the area, and making BP pay for it.

May 31, 2010 (LPAC)—Emergency expropriation of BP, government takeover of the well-closure and cleanup effort, and the arrest and indictment of CEO Tony Hayward and other top officers of the British company, are the immediate emergency actions required in response to the ongoing crisis in the Gulf of Mexico. However, until President Obama is gotten out of the way, no solution to this or any other aspect of the crisis now threatening civilization is possible.

BP is running a criminal operation within the borders of the United States, corrupting institutions of government, running their own fleets and contract police forces, and employing local populations as their virtual slaves. Any reasonably educated American patriot can immediately recognize in BP, the earlier model of the British East India Company, and thus recognize, almost instinctively, the face of the enemy.

The proper role for BP vessels, equipment, and personnel is that of a commandeered vessel, as in wartime, directed under the emergency authority of competent government agency acting in the U.S. national interest, not that of a foreign corporation serving a foreign power.

Failure of the Obama administration to take action against BP is simply further evidence that this President is a bought and paid for asset of the British imperial interests intent on wrecking our nation, who must go now. As Lyndon LaRouche put it yesterday: "It is just one more indication of why he must be immediately removed from office. If you want to save the nation, get him out of there. People who are not moving to get him out of office are not real." LaRouche suggested that the best solution would be to "take the President, put him in a basket tied up in a pink ribbon, and leave him on the doorstep of Buckhingham Palace." The attached message could read "Merry Christmas, he's all yours —Greetings from Chicago."

Criminal Negligence

 

Sufficient evidence to indict BP CEO Tony Hayward and other top officials for criminally negligent homicide in the April 20 death of 11 workers on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig is already on the public record. Evidence gathered as a result of emergency takeover of BP by the U.S. government may lead to more serious charges, not excluding the possibility of acts of sabotage by personnel of BP or higher ranking officials of the relevant foreign government. The protection of such evidence is one among the compelling reasons for the immediacy of such emergency action.

The testimony of the chief electronics technician of the sunken oil rig, Mike Williams, in a May 16 CBS 60 Minutes interview was already sufficient to open a homicide investigation. Since then, Williams' assertions have been corroborated and added to by testimony from relevant personnel and outside experts. Williams, one of the last men off the rig, who survived by jumping 10 stories into the water and swimming through burning oil, had asserted the following points:

* BP had been putting pressure on the drilling crew for several weeks before the accident to make up for time lost after the failure of a first drilling effort which was pursued with too much speed.

* BP overrode the decision of the Transocean drilling rig captain, and ordered premature removal of drilling mud from the well, allowing the gas escape which caused the explosion.

* BP ignored evidence of a damaged rubber annular which was crucial to correctly measuring pressure at wellhead and to containment in case of explosion.

* BP failed to replace one of two electrical controllers, known to be damaged, on the submerged blow-out protector.

Subsequently, at hearings by the Minerals Management Service and U.S. Coast Guard in New Orleans, the evidence of BP criminal negligence was further documented. In addition to the points already made by Williams, it was also noted that:

* BP skipped a quality test of the cement around the pipe, despite warnings from cement contractor Halliburton.

* Halliburton specialists also warned BP in an April 18 report that if BP didn't use more centering devices, the well would likely have a severe gas flow problem. Halliburton recommended installation of 21 such devices, but BP decided to install only 6.

* Transocean's Jimmy Harrell, a manager for Transocean who was in charge of the rig testified in New Orleans that he had disagreement with BP officials on the rig before the explosion, and expressed concern that BP did not plan to conduct a pressure test before sealing the well closed.

According to other testimony on the same subject, at a meeting 11 hours before the blowout, Transocean's crew leaders, including Harrell, strongly objected to a decision by BP's top representative Donald Vidrine, over how to remove heavy drilling fluid which acts as a damper on the oil and gas pressure, and replace it with lighter seawater. The rig's primary driller Dewey Revette and another worker also disagreed with BP.

* Congress released a memorandum on Tuesday May 25 showing that BP's internal investigation indicated there were warning signs immediately before the explosion that gas was bubbling into the well, a sign of a potential blowout.

* Drilling experts also testified in hearings before Congress the previous week, that BP chose not to use a second layer of pipe, known as liner, a more expensive, but safer procedure.

Almost a year ago, on June 22, BP engineers expressed concerns that the metal casing the company wanted to use might collapse under high pressure, according to ineternal documents form BP. The comapny went ahead with the casing after getting special permission from BP colleagues.

It is also to be noted that BP officials were never held accountable for their criminal negligence in a 2005 explosion at the Texas City refinery which killed 15 workers and injured more than 170 others. Investigation showed that equipment at the site of the fire in the 50-year old plant was rusted and unsafe, monitoring devices were improperly maintained, and instead of a safety culture, plant operations were characterized by sloppiness and employee discontent. Despite a book-length report by an independent panel of experts, BP got away with fines and a slap on the wrist. Ironically, the bad publicity led to the replacement of former CEO Lord Browne with the present occupant, Tony Hayward.¹

Were BP not a protected asset of a President and Congress in the hands of the same British interest which rammed through a Nazi-like health care bill and a sellout of the Glass-Steagall protections against financial looters, the criminal indictment of Hayward and other BP officials would already have been served.

Energy Policy

 

Most errors relating to evaluation of the present situation can be avoided by understanding that BP is not primarily an energy company, but an asset of the British imperial interest, carrying out the stated policy of reduction of the world's population from the present 6.5 plus billion to 2 billion or below. Once the power behind that unspeakably criminal intention is overthrown, as it now appears we may have it in our power as a nation to accomplish, we shall still face the physical economic problem, the inherited legacy of a half-century long policy of suppression of the application of science to the betterment of the common interests of mankind. The relevance of the oil question to that problem is best viewed in terms first employed nearly a century ago by Russian academician and founder of the science of biogeochemistry, Vladimir Vernadsky.

Vernadsky defined three domains of universal action corresponding to the non-living, living, and cognitive processes, also cognate with the terms lithosphere, biosphere, and noosphere. Mankind, which has become as Vernadsky noted, a geological force, presently depends for its existence upon the mining of concentrated deposits of minerals, which are mostly the remains of dead organisms or the result of the action of ancient living organisms upon the lithosphere. The exhaustion of the richest deposits requires that we apply higher powers of technology, generally of higher energy flux density and intellectual content, to the tapping of remaining ores.

The point is illustrated, for the case of oil, by the requirement to drill deeper to find deposits such as those under the Gulf. Theoretically it is no longer necessary that we depend upon ancient deposits of oil, as the requirements for liquid and gaseous fuels can be met by nuclear-generated hydrogen and hydrogen-based synfuels, development of electric vehicles, and development of a national maglev rail grid. However, the willful sabotage of nuclear development, by that same British interest behind BP and the environmental movement which it sponsors, has meant that it will be 10 to 20 years before replacement of crude oil-based fuels can become a significant economic factor. In the meantime, the urgent immediate requirements for economic development to save an imperiled humanity, which include the rapid buildup to a production capability of at least 6,000 nuclear plants within the next generation, will require an increase in demands upon presently dwindling oil resources. That will mean the need for deeper and thus potentially more dangerous offshore drilling in the immediate future. It can be accomplished under proper scientific guidance, removed from the control of the empire's looting operations.

Without minimizing the damage to local industries, and beaches, one should avoid falling into environmentalist disaster mongering about the ultimate catastrophe, and calls for an end to offshore drilling. We do not defend looting by BP or any oil plunderer. We defend the right of the human species to exploit the necessary resources to advance its mission to go forth and have dominion over the Earth, the solar system, and the galaxy.

World Wildlife Fund and Greenpeace are the same thing as BP, branches of the British imperial power intent upon reducing human population and progress. The environmentalist proposals to ban offshore or deepwater drilling must be understood as nothing more than the implementation of a global genocide policy which is their raison d'etre. The need to carry out a scientifically controlled deepwater drilling program is part of the compelling reason why the United States must assert its sovereign national power to bring criminal operations such as BP under control.

Can the Hole Be Closed?

 

As of this writing, BP has conceded failure with the "top kill" measures, and is preparing for the next fallback option, the installation of a new cap on the blowout preventer which covers the wellhead. "Top kill" refers to the high-pressure pumping of heavy drilling fluid ("mud") down the well to counteract the upward pressure of oil and gas. As in nearly all aspects of the effort, BP had said one thing and done another. Early on Thursday, May 27, BP and Coast Guard Commander Thad Stevens created the impression that the top kill was working. Later that day, BP officials revealed that the pumping had stopped the night before when it became evident that much of the drilling fluid was not going down the well, but escaping out holes in the damaged blowout preventer which caps the well. At the present, viewing of the live video feed from BP's remotely operated undersea vehicle shows a huge plume of oil and gas rising from the damaged wellhead. Experts say that there is the danger that the pumping of the heavy mud may have caused more damage, and could possibly cause another blowout.

BP will now attempt to place a new cap, known as the Lower Marine Riser Package, at the point where the original riser pipe, damaged by the explosion, connects to the top of the blowout preventer. Such a procedure has never been attempted before under 5,000 feet of water. If successful, it remains a partial fix, because an unknown amount of gas and oil will continue to escape from damaged parts of the blowout preventer below the cap.

BP's ultimate fallback solution are two relief wells with an earliest scheduled completion date of August. However, to complete the relief wells, drillers must intersect the existing pipe casing at a depth of 18,000 feet. Because some of the run is horizontal, the task amounts to hitting an invisible, 7.5-inch wide target through 5,000 feet of water and about 20,000 feet of rock.

It is possible that the overall evaluation of the undersea situation put out by BP is wrong, either due to ignorance or willful misdirection. A former energy adviser to President George W. Bush, Matt Simmons, suggests that the hole BP is trying to close may not be the main source of oil escaping into the Gulf. He and another independent oil expert appeared on MSNBC last week, suggesting that a collapse of the casing deep in the well may have permitted the release of high pressure gas and oil, which found its way to the surface through natural fissures and blew out a hole miles away from the drilling site. Simmons calls for putting BP out of the picture, and bringing in the Navy to work with consultants to evaluate the true situation. He also suggests that an explosive device might ultimately be required to close the underground cavities, citing Soviet use of small nuclear charges to seal runaway gas wells.

Whether these are self-serving proposals, or legitimate suggestions, this and other independent evaluations must be sorted through—not by BP, but by an agency of the U.S. government given emergency powers to act in the sovereign interest of the United States. Expropriate BP, indict its deserving officers, and take over the seal-off and cleanup efforts, and we will be well on our way to resolving this and other problems caused by our British enemy. But to do that, we must first send Obama back to the Queen.

Hayward now enjoys among his perks, a membership in the Bilderberg Society and World Economic Forum at Davos.

Considering the relevant, stubbornly recurring patterns of evidence accumulated since the Obama Presidency’s monstrous, Hitler-like health-care scheme was prominently reported in April 2009.

It should be our present conclusion, now, that, over the course of the interval since his January 2009 inauguration as U.S. President, it has now been shown by President Barack Obama’s behavior, that the effect of his variously enacted and actually established policies, is, as a matter of fact, more and more, that of an agent of a British empire working to destroy our United States, as his behavior in the matter of the scandalous case of British Petroleum illustrates the point.

That is to say, that the effect of his practice upon the lives and welfare of our people, has been: that a pattern has been shown, chiefly, by economic policies whose expressed intent has been like a housewife’s dosing an unwanted husband’s still-living body with a slow accumulation of arsenic. In this case, Obama’s, the action is treasonous in a matter of a willfully induced effect.

In this case, the only reasonable conclusion must be, that his poisonous dosages of his victim, our U.S.A., are rather large, and that the effect has become the evidence that the intention of President Obama’s policy of practice in this matter has been to rapidly ruin our United States of America’s sovereign independence, that for the pleasure of the present, imperial British monarchy.

Such is that incumbent President’s monstrous policy, a policy being continued currently by means of actions which are currently reducing our republic, step by step, to a captive piece of shattered wreckage, through measures including the following three categories:

a.) By usurious and related policies of induced ruin of both our nation’s sovereignty and general welfare;

b.) By use of included means of implicitly treasonous policies which are shown to have been launched as a matter of concerted action by the British Empire under Queen Elizabeth II;

and

c.) By the complicity of that monarchy’s reign’s current puppet-in-fact, a more and more “Emperor Nero-like,” U.S. President Barack Obama.

Thus, the Obama Presidency’s challenge to the proper conscience of all of the fully witting patriots of our own republic, is one which goes far beyond what might be considered as merely sufficient grounds for “impeachment-in-fact” of a certain, errant incumbent of the U.S. Presidency: President Barack Obama.

Obama’s continued holding of that office, including his ruinous influence over the institutions of the Federal Government in general, has now shown us a pattern of his behavior which, in credible, practical effect, constitutes an immediate threat to the continued existence of our sovereign constitutional republic, and also to the general welfare of the peoples of our planet as a whole.

It is to be emphasized, on this account, that as in Afghanistan, today, the present British Queen and President Barack Obama share the coloring of a declared commitment to the fully witting promotion of a mass-murderous production in support of an international traffic in illicit drugs. In fact of conspicuous practice, the Queen does push dope—globally!

Therefore, our own currently recommended policy must be, chiefly, the following remedial measures:

1.) WE MUST NOW PROMPTLY UN-ELECT AN IMPLICITLY TREASONOUS PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA, FOR RUINING OUR NATION’S SOVEREIGNTY FOR THE BENEFIT OF A FOREIGN IMPERIAL POWER, THE BRITISH IMPERIAL MONARCHY.

2.) WE MUST ADOPT THE ENERGETIC PROPOSAL FOR A CERTAIN, CRUCIAL POSITIVE MEASURE: A FOUR-POWER, NEW, VIRTUALLY GLOBAL INITIATIVE, that by the initiative of no less than the U.S.A., Russia, China, India, and other willing sovereigns, thus initiating the relaunching of the world’s real economy on a global scale, through ending the reign-in-fact of the British Empire of Queen Elizabeth II over matters bearing on the vital, sovereign interests of both the U.S.A. and of other nations. That is a goal to be made achievable through establishing a global Glass-Steagall standard of a benefit shared among willing sovereign nations, a goal effected through the intended, relatively global establishment of a fixed-exchange-rate credit system whose benefits are to be shared among all willing nations who become party to such an agreement.

3.) WE MUST ESTABLISH AN ECONOMIC-DEVELOPMENT POLICY FOR OUR PLANET’S PEOPLES, one premised upon an included commitment to a science-driver program for mankind’s future, to be gained through aid of the realization of space-colonization goals.

An urgent lesson in economics!

I.THE ROOTS OF THE EVIL OF THAT BRITISH EMPIRE WHICH WE MUST ACT TO REMEDY ON THE BEHALF OF ALL NATIONS AND THEIR PEOPLES

 

It had been well said by the celebrated scholar George Santayana, that: “those who refuse to remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Unfortunately, although the name of “history” is still in the dictionaries, the practice of knowledge of actual history, as distinct from academically flavored anecdotes, has been virtually banned, increasingly, from our public memory, since the assassination of essential political truths by the so-called “Warren Commission.”

Santayana was correct.

There is a qualitative distinction between the parades of merely, “ostensibly academic” anecdotes which pass for “history” in most of academic and like places today, and, the contrary option, that of discovering the actual long-ranging dynamic of real history.

For example:

During approximately the Seventh Century B.C., the sovereign maritime powers of Egypt, the Etruscans, and the Ionian seafarers based in the western coast of Anatolia, had joined in a naval alliance for defense against the Mediterranean maritime forces centered in the city of Tyre. The relevant pattern of that maritime conflict in the Mediterranean region had not begun then; but, it expressed a pattern which is notable, still today, as being continued through the time of what were called the Punic Wars, and beyond.

The imperial maritime power of Tyre itself, had been broken, later, through the leadership of Alexander the Great in bringing about the process of destruction of what is commonly referred to as the Persian Empire of that time. This latter accomplishment had occurred during a time that an Athens-centered alliance of the sea peoples known popularly today as “the ancient Greeks” had, previously, defeated the maritime forces of the Persian empire, but, had, themselves, then fallen prey to the folly of the imperialist schemes of fratricidal warfare which had been arranged for them as that perennially evil, monetarist, Delphi Apollo cult’s orchestration of the Peloponnesian War.

In modern times, the British Empire, which followed the model of the Delphi Apollo cult’s orchestration of the Peloponnesian War in such matters as this, has also gained and maintained its imperial power, similarly, beginning with that pattern known as that Eighteenth-century “Seven Years War” which has been since repeated, again, in the British orchestration of the Napoleonic wars, and, again, of all other major warfare in the trans-Atlantic world, including two so-called “world wars,” the prolonged “cold war” of 1946-1989, the prolonged Indo-China war, and beyond, up to the present day in the British drug-trafficking center called Afghanistan.

In the real history of the world, Napoleon Bonaparte was a British agent in effect, whether he recognized that fact or not. Virtually all the major wars of the world since the so-called “Seven Years War,” such as the Napoleonic wars, were organized as wars by the British empire as implementations of the same methods expressed in the British luring of its intended victims of continental Europe into fighting silly wars which accomplished the effect of clearing the decks of the world for the establishment of the British empire of that time as an enterprise of a private company known as the British East India Company. This was the same British scheme which was the cause of the launching of the fight for freedom against the British East India Company and its traitorous accomplices among us, which led us fatefully to the necessity of fighting our War of Independence against a British empire which, in fact, remains the chief enemy of our own and many other nations still today.

Santayana’s warning was right again, and yet again, up through the royal British dope-pushers luring a foolish, British-controlled Obama government of the United States, into the lunacy of its war in a world opium capital called Afghanistan presently!

Similarly, from the time of the death of Macedon’s Alexander the Great, through the time of the agreement reached on the Isle of Capri between, on the one side, the party of the Octavian who would become known as Augustus Caesar and, on the other, the party of the priests of the Cult of Mithra, the established powers of the three maritime, religious powers of Rome, Egypt, and Mithra, dominating the Mediterranean, were assimilated into a form of the imposition of a greater power known as the Roman Empire.

Hence, from that time onward, until the victory of the United States in securing its freedom in fact from the tyranny of British Empire, at Yorktown, the imperial leading maritime power of the world, which had been formerly based in the Mediterranean, is to be recognized presently in the expression of a power which had passed, repeatedly, through a succession of particular expressions of a continuing, imperial maritime power which has been modeled on the monetarist policies of such as the representatives of the Delphi cult of Apollo.

Such was the case of the Roman Empire figure of the Plutarch who was the last triumphant imperialist priest of that Delphi Cult of Apollo which was a great political power within the ruling circles of the Roman empire itself. Such is the true past of the world’s only true, monetarist empire of today, as expressed in the so-called British Empire in both its associated British Commonwealth and its Wall Street, the Boston Vault, and Chicago arms.

In the same imperialist tradition, since the onset of the decline of the Second Roman Empire, also known as the Byzantine Empire, approximately 1000 A.D., then with the rise of the power of the usurious power which came to be formed around the creation of the City of Venice, until the victory at Yorktown: the trans-Atlantic world had been long dominated, for much more than a thousand years, by a succession of European imperial monetarist maritime powers modeled upon a succession of the Delphic system. The emergence of the British empire in the February 1763 Peace of Paris, is typical of that legacy.

Thus, what is happening world-wide at this present moment, is a now global breakdown-crisis of that British fag-end of what had emerged out of the Delphic legacy of the Peloponnesian War and ancient Roman imperialism, an imperialism which has emerged out of the continuity of more than 3,000 years of European history which, as I have just emphasized here, is a continuity expressed in such forms as the ancient Mediterranean-centered maritime imperialism of what had once been a triumphant imperial Rome. The last reigning relic of that imperial tradition today, is the presently disintegrating British model of what is continued, still today, as the ancient European monetarist form of maritime imperialist system.

Such is the key, to be found in history, for reaching a competent understanding of the roots of the present, terrible, global economic breakdown-crisis under way for civilization as a whole.

Contrary to popular history, it is not events which drive the processes of history; it is the processes of history which drive events.

II. THE DOOM OF THE BRITISH EMPIRE

 

What can be competently identified as “modern history” began within the opening decades of Europe’s Fifteenth Century. This continuing process of modern history’s principal, subsumed phases of development, which came to include Pacific and Indian Oceans cultures as already the European, is divided in respect to the principally controlling forces chiefly responsible for its successive phases of effects, as, approximately, among, first, the Fifteenth-Century European Renaissance; second, the Sixteenth-Century phase of the combined effects of the religious warfare of 1492-1648, and of the initial Habsburg-dominated colonization of post-Christopher Columbus Central and South America; third, the French- and English-speaking Seventeenth-and-Eighteenth-centuries development of the transformed quality of predominantly English-speaking European civilization which was planted in North America; and, fourth, that great existential, global conflict centered in the conflict which has been continued between the United States of America and the British Empire throughout the Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries—and now into the Twenty-First Century.

There had been, admittedly, relatively powerful earlier cultures in the trans-Pacific and related regions during ancient times preceding the consequences of the Fifteenth-Century rise of modern Europe out of the process leading into the Fifteenth-century founding of modern European development through the rate of increase of regional productive power, per capita and per square kilometer, which had left the continents of Africa and Asia behind until the time that the impact of the development of the cultural forces specific to the culture of European science and technology was being assimilated by other continents. This later breakthrough into the domain of the admittedly still limited, modern technological progress of Asia and Africa came as a by-product of the same initiative projected by Cardinal Nicholas of Cusa which launched the modern European discovery of and developments within the Americas.

This distinctive significance of the development of modern Europe since the impetus of the great ecumenical Council of Florence, is properly understood as an echo of the revolutionary changes under Charlemagne, and such later initiatives on which the launching of the European Fifteenth-century Renaissance would depend, as typified otherwise by the exemplary role of Dante Alighieri and his tradition.

Looking more deeply into the general history of mankind’s known civilizations, the pattern of once-rising and fallen civilizations and their cultures, has had the function of a testing of mankind’s capacity to purge itself of those cultural habits which had been the chief causes of great failures of entire civilizations which have, so to speak, “cleared the decks” of past history of failed experiments in culture and statecraft. The same logic poses the warning, that either we free European civilization of the disease represented by the present British empire, or European civilization is already plunging the planet as a whole into a great, genocidal catastrophe of numerous generations’ duration.

The British empire and its economic-policy and related influence, is, therefore, speaking scientifically, not a culture, but the political-cultural equivalent of an awesomely evil, venereal disease, which produces nothing as much as the foulest effects in morals and economy wherever its cultural infection spreads

So, Cato said: Carthage is to be destroyed!

The common distinction of those novel developments within this history which have emerged since the onset of Europe’s Fifteenth Century, has been, chiefly, the turn of the official language of administration of the western part of European society, away from the Latin which dominated the long reign of the western part of the Roman Empire and its medieval successors, and into the modern European reform of national language cultures, which was developed through the promotion of the literate development of popular languages, as through the initiatives of the refinement of, most notably Dante Alighieri, the reform launched in favor of what has been identified, in pejorative terms, as “the vulgate.”

This development of literate forms of popular languages, as by the initiative of Dante Alighieri, earlier, and Dante’s call for the introduction of the modern sovereign nation-state, in his series entitled De Monarchia, posed an issue which provided a setting for the later revolution, by Nicholas of Cusa, which was the launching of modern European science and modern, post-feudal forms of national economies. The great ecumenical Council of Florence consolidated these great advances which are to be usefully identified as the birth of modern trans-Atlantic Classical scientific and artistic culture. The concept of the modern sovereign nation-state republic was realized in Nicholas of Cusa’s Concordancia Catholica, while the principle of modern science was introduced to the world in Cusa’s later De Docta Ignorantia. All competent traces of modern physical science since A.D.1440 are traced from De Docta Ignorantia through such avowed followers of Cusa as Luca Pacioli, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Johannes Kepler who prompted the work of such as, most notably, Gottfried Leibniz and his successors through such celebrated figures as Abraham Kästner, Carl F. Gauss, Lejeune Dirichlet, and Bernhard Riemann.

This cultural revolution was not an uncontested set of changes. The Classical revolution signaled by the great ecumenical Council of Florence, was a contested advancement in the human social condition, an advance opposed with increasing force from a Venice which, now, once more, dominates the monetarist systems of the Mediterranean and beyond, as monetarism had ruled the economies of the Mediterranean world since prior to the emergence of a Classical Greek mode of maritime-based culture. The force of Venice which resisted the birth of modern science and also the impact of the great ecumenical Council of Florence and such figures of that Council as Nicholas of Cusa, had also sought to destroy both modern civilization’s Classical art, and science-oriented economy, a resistance, promoted by Venice, which came to be centered in the medieval relics of the legacy of the Habsburg imperial dynasty. The latter were the relics which have continued to dominate, recurrently, most of the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking regions of South and Central America, with what have been, speaking historically, relatively brief exceptions, since that time, up to the present date.

World civilization is now being tested; either we rid it of that venereal-like disease which is British reigning ideology and its spread, or entire nations and cultures of the planet will, once more, die now, as similar purges of similar forms of corruption have, in their own past times, reigned too long to be tolerated by the Creator. Do not blame God. That is not theology; that is living history, once more, today.

That was the warning of Aeschylus, especially in his Prometheus trilogy. Nations must use nuclear and thermonuclear fire, for example, or be doomed!

Santayana was right.

III.IN DEFENSE OF MANKIND

 

The universe itself is creative, or, as I read Albert Einstein’s comment on the great, unique act of genius known as Johannes Kepler’s unique discovery of the universal principle of gravitation, the universe is always finite, but never bounded.

The great Russian Academician V.I. Vernadsky’s central achievement is to be summarized as his contribution to the notion that all aspects of the universe are creative, which is to say anti-entropic, whether the lithosphere, the biosphere, or the noösphere, but, that, among all of these, only the human mind is actually, willfully creative.

As we see ourselves as Earthlings, we can not say that only what we might recognize as human beings are the only form in which our specifically human qualities of cognitive creativity, as in Classical art and science, are to be found in our relatively very large, as also finite universe. After all, the manner in which we imagine the form of that we see as ourselves in terms of “external” sense-perception, is not the actual form in which our personalities actually exist; but, we can be certain that the creative power which distinguishes us from all other kinds of known living beings, is in the likeness of the notion of a Creator, but excepting errant solipsists, since the principle of willful creativity exists manifestly in the known expressions of the universe, we can be content with the thought that if any different species of willfully creative beings exists “out there,” their intended role converges on that great principle which our given nature has assigned to us to play, if, and we might assume that, we are playing the role on behalf of the future which is intended for us by our very own given design.

One of the great misfortunes which European cultures have wreaked upon themselves, is our presently prolonged toleration of that essential form of evil which the great Aeschylus attributed to the nature of the servants of the evil Olympian Zeus of Aeschylus’ own Prometheus trilogy. Here, precisely, as in the figure of that Olympian Zeus, lies the essential evil of the household of Prince Philip’s British royal house, the truly satanic, Hitler-like evil also represented by figures such as Bertrand Russell and his followers. Here lies the essential principle of tragedy which permeates the known dramas of Aeschylus. That evil—the evil expressed by Prince Philip’s advocacy of the World Wildlife Fund, is the essence of the great sin against the Creator which the very existence of that House of Windsor represents in the world at large today. Embrace such policies, and the civilization which continued to do so today, will surely leave the company of all humanity, and that now soon, for reason of its being another manifestation of the great crime against the Creator which has doomed the satanic-like arrogance of regimes and cultures in the likeness of what Prince Philip represents, and also his associate, President Barack Obama, unless Obama either suddenly changes his ways, or is removed by the lawfully willful action of our citizenry.

The citizens of our United States will remove Obama from the Presidency, that he might enjoy a long life of cruel disgrace, now; but, we must admit, only if the citizens will now, thus enable themselves to free civilization at large from the great wave of destruction which Obama’s submission to his British imperial master would bring upon our world, and ourselves, now. For Obama himself, we must say: “Resign and report, now, or prepare yourself to enjoy a safely long and healthy life in the ever-loving embrace of infamy. That fate might seem like Hell to you, but, be assured, as Dante Alighieri might say, ‘it would be only just’.”

Obama's BP Treachery is The Last Straw

MAY 30, (LPAC)--Lyndon LaRouche today issued the following statement, after receiving the lastest status report on the crisis in the Gulf of Mexico.
"The urgency of the situation in the Gulf of Mexico makes it clear that, as long as Barack Obama remains in office as President, the problem will not be competently addressed. For the vital sake of our nation, Obama must be immediately removed from office.

"The situation in the Gulf of Mexico is now totally out of control, and it will only get worse and worse, so long as Obama is in the Presidency. There is no chance to save the U.S.A. as long as he is not impeached or otherwise Constitutionally removed from office,'' LaRouche declared.

With the latest failure of British Petroleum to cap the oil leak, which was finally officially admitted this morning, and with President Obama's deadly failure to act in any competent fashion, this crisis, LaRouche warned, "is now going to spread up the Atlantic coast, and into the Gulf Stream. We have reached a moment of truth. Either we act to save the planet, by immediately removing Obama from office, or we shall not survive. These latest events in the Gulf of Mexico are the last straw.'' LaRouche continued, "Anyone who is not moving for his ouster is not for real. The disaster in the Gulf of Mexico is one more demonstration why he must be expelled from office on an emergency basis. If you want to save the nation, he has got to go. Either he goes or civilization goes.''

LaRouche recommended that, perhaps Mr. Obama should be placed in a basket, with a pink ribbon, and left on the doorsteps of Buckingham Palace, with a little note: "Greetings from Chicago.''

The Spanish Banking System Is a Goner; London Is Next

May 30, 2010 (LPAC)—If you value your life, don't get caught standing next to a Spanish bank in the early part of next week. London-based Fitch Ratings downgraded Spain's sovereign debt on Friday May 28, after markets had already closed; but they were simply taking note of a fact which Lyndon LaRouche has been warning about for months: That the entire Spanish banking system is a goner, and as it implodes, it will bring down the entire British banking system with it.

Spain's banks are muy bankrupt—both its commercial banking segment, with about $1.8 trillion in assets, and its savings bank sector (or "cajas"), which is about the same size. Between them, they have over $540 billion in exposure to the Construction and Property Development sector—i.e., real estate speculation—where the speculative binge over the last two decades barreled ahead at about twice the rate of Britain's, and three times that of the United States.

Today, about 37% of that $540 billion in bank real estate exposure has gone sour, according to official statistics just published by the central bank, the Bank of Spain. The worst of it has either been written off outright (1% of the total) or foreclosed on (13%). But there is an additional 10% which is classified as "doubtful," which means that nothing has been paid on it for more than 90 days. The banks have not yet foreclosed on these loans, only because they don't want to carry more trash on their books—much as is happening in the U.S. And on top of all that, there is still another 13% considered "substandard loans," meaning they are rapidly heading towards 90 days, too.

In a fraud that is reminiscent of Lyndon LaRouche's description of the U.S. auto sector in the 1950s, Spain's banks are engaging in cheap accounting sleight-of-hand to try to keep the reality of their bankruptcy at bay. Not only are they not calling in non-performing debt, in order to be able to still show it as assets on their books; they have also deferred losses where foreclosures have occurred, by taking direct control of the physical houses and property instead—on a massive scale. The largest Spanish banks, such as Santander and BBVA, have set up specialist real estate units to manage "NPAs" (non-performing assets) and try to sell houses directly to consumers.

How extensive is this? Well, a Barclays Capital report published in February says that NPAs as a percentage of loans to the real estate sector, officially stand at 17% for BBVA, and 8% for Santander. But when you adjust the NPA ratio to include acquired real estate physical assets, BBVA's ratio rises to 23%, and Santander's jumps to a staggering 29%!

So when all this blows, the shock front will spread far and wide—emphatically including London. About 42% of all Spanish debt is held by foreigners: The public debt component is 38% held abroad, and the financial sector's debt is 80% foreign owned. Of those foreign holdings, nearly 15% are in London banks; only German and French banks are more exposed.

But that's only part of the story. The "Spanish" banking system itself is, in large measure, a financial and political subsidiary of the City of London. The two largest commercial banks in Spain, Santander and BBVA, control 29% and 27% respectively of the entire banking system's assets. Santander is run top-down by the Royal Family's Royal Bank of Scotland, and BBVA also has historical ties into British finance.

As the fuse on the bomb burns down quickly, what would London have the Spanish government do about this mess? Further destroy the physical economy, and lay off millions of more workers in a country that already has the highest official unemployment rate in Europe, at 20%. And that will make the country ungovernable, to put it mildly.
